§ 1 Team Roster

A roster can hold up to 30 players. The teams obtain the players either by franchise player protection, the draft or through trades (trades can only be announced in the time after the WGL Bowl and before the first kick-off of week 6). Players from the position Quarterback (QB), Wide Receiver (WR), Tight End (TE), Running Back (RB) and Place Kicker (PK) are valid.

§ 2 Franchise Players

After the season the commissioner will announce a WGL Cut Deadline. Up to this specific date every WGL manager has the opportunity to designate a maximum of 10 of his players as franchise players. These players remain with their respective WGL teams and will be carried over into the new season.

§ 3 WGL Draft

A WGL draft will be held just prior to the NFL season. The draft order depends on the results of the previous WGL season. It will be drafted regarding to the reverse order of the WGL standings after the last regular season game (last team drafting first, first team drafting last). However, the WGL Bowl winner will draft as #8 and the WGL Bowl loser will draft as #7.

§ 4 Schedule

The WGL has a regular season where each team plays every other team twice. After week 14 the four top teams qualify for the playoffs. The #1 team faces the #4 team and the #2 team plays the #3 team. The two winners will fight in the WGL Bowl in the following week.

§ 5 Standings

The teams are ranked according to their winning percentage. Other indicators for the ranking are spread, points-for (PF), head-to-head comparison, total offensive yards in head-to-head comparison, total offensive yards in the season and the coin toss.

§ 6 Starters

Each general manager of the participating WGL teams has to start 9 players from his roster every week:

  • 1 Quarterback (QB)
  • 3 Wide Receivers (WR)
  • 1 Tight End (TE)
  • 3 Running Backs (RB)
  • 1 Place Kicker (PK)

The same amount of players from each position has to be named as back ups. Team changes must be announced no later than 1 minute before the kick-off.

§ 7 Statistics

The winner of two facing teams will be evaluated by the comparison of 7 categories:

  • Passing Yards
  • Passing Average
  • Receiving Yards
  • Receiving Average
  • Rushing Yards
  • Rushing Average
  • Scoring

All starters account for each category. The team that wins more categories wins the game, however ties can occur in regular season games. If a playoff game or the WGL Bowl is tied after regulation, then the total offensive yards will decide the game.
